LOL...Donkaments

Sorry for not updating much lately. I've been really busy with graduating and other stuff. Good news is that I've graduated. Bad news is that I'll start working in a couple of weeks and so, I probably won't have the time to play MTTs anymore, so I'll have to stick to SNGs and cash games.

That being said, I've had a pretty good 2 weeks or so since I graduated. I won both a $11 and $22 Stars 180-SNG and have done pretty well in the NL cash games for a nice $2.5K over the 2 weeks. The $11 Stars 180-SNG was pretty sick. From the final 2 table onwards, I've been really aggressive in stealing and defending the blinds. Anyway, down to 6-handed, Button minraised my BB and I shoved with K6 and he insta-calls with KK and I don't suckout and got crippled down to 103 chips when the avg stack was 45K. Anyway, I moved in pf 5 out of the next 6 hands and manage to get my stack back up to 25K and somehow go on to take down the whole thing. Thanks to all the FCPers who railed both final tables.

Like I've said earlier, I've also been running pretty well in the NL cash games. So far, I think I've put in about 20K hands of NL cash games since I started getting serious about them. It's a much much more challenging game than tournaments since having at least 100X BB in front of you forces you to make tough decisions. Concepts like pot control and position are definitely magnified when both my opponents and I are deep stacked. One area that I think I need to work on is loosening up my preflop 3-betting range. Right now, I think my range is rather tight and I think I'm losing value against some looser opponents. Not only that, I'm also giving up the betting lead and allowing myself to get bluffed out of pots where I actually have the better hand. So that's a concern that I'll work on over the next few thousand hands.

I've got a whole bunch of interesting hands to post but I haven't had the time to run them through the converter, so I guess this post ends here. I'll endeavour to post more regularly in the new year.
